"There are animals, but their meat is as dirty." As dirty as that of a human would be, and that is disturbing. Animals usually carry a lot less toxins in them if they live in the wild, or that is at least what his experience from home tells him.

He's always been more interested in finding a way out. Which is obviously connected, but the specific question of how they got so many people here just never held much interest to him.
