1. You are a kid! Maybe you are a toddler in nursery or already in pre-school, or anywhere in between, but you are a kid who comes here more or less regularly, interacts with other kids and the teachers and the nurse and is dropped off in the morning and picked up sometime later during the day.
2. You are an adult! Maybe you are a teacher, or doing an internship, or you are a parent or older sibling picking up their kid, or the nurse or whatever an adult would do in such a place...
...of course you can change which one your muse is depending on whom they thread with.

And as for scenarios - you can of course do whatever you want, but a few ideas:
I. The first day in kindregarten. Being left behind by mommy or daddy, encountering new friends, so many things to discover...
II. Nap time! Maybe you just need to tell your friend this story before falling asleep. Or your teddy has gotten lost. And as for adults, oftentimes the parents will be present for the first few days of nursery to ease their child into things. Don't glare too many daggers at that other parents who is easing their child into the situation at the same time, you might make a child cry... Cuddling with their child is a much nicer option, yes?
III. Playground! Maybe you build a sandcastle together, or maybe you kick each others sandcastle down, who knows? Or maybe you are in the crafts room, or in the dolls corner, or you are having a class...
IV. Uh oh. Something isn't going too smoothly, and you have to mend things with another child or explain yourself to a teacher or maybe discuss a case with another staff member, or even call in the parents...
V. Field trip! Or maybe it is some holiday, or a birthday/conception day is happening in your group, or or or...

[Thranduil doesn't speak. Not at first, at least, But his face goes from scowling in iritation and the to one of rage.]

[No, he isn't shouting. His voice just sounds particularly ominous.]

Of course not. You're talking to me like an addle brained finch instead of looking for him. Find him. Now.

[There is a rather angry sneer on his face right now. Better run Lindir.]

Perhaps if you could share with me where you think he might be?

[He stares at Lindir for nearly a minute before finally speaking.]

Are you not supposed to be keeping track of him? How am I to know his favorite places if I am not here to attend him? Or are you saying you are so incompetent that you cannot keep track of one, child from a forest?

Look for him in the trees! Usually the tallest one he ca find!

[Thranduil is surprised his dad is hear so soon and runs to hug him. Just before reaching him, he manages to slow his pace nearly skidding to a halt so that he won't crash into ada.]

[That makes him smile, then he gently embraces his son before picking him up.]

I have missed you in this short time apart, ion-nin, yet I am glad your morning was filled with the wonders of play.

[He gives his father a kiss on the cheek and hugs him closely, smiling and nodding.] There was lots of children to play with. I wanna come again adar.

[Slightly sad look.]

I fear it will not be possible, for we must make a long journey the day after next.

But adar, I like it here, why must we go? [He is trying not to pout so much. It's not an easy thing. He wants to be a good child for his father though.]

[Looks as if Maglor could have clamped down on little Alice a bit better. She isn't a hyper active child, merely a curious one with a penchant for roaming off. Someone should really talk to her about strangers. He's got such long, pretty hair! Alice has simply never seen a man like that, but as soon as he glances to her, Alice fails miserably with hiding behind a door. She isn't going back in!]

[He notices someone looking at him, but does not realize at first that the child is looking at him, at least until he realizes that she has been behind the door for awhile.]

Child. what are you doing?

[Although he speaks softly his voice still carries an authoritative tone.]

[Elves are very tall people, more than papa, Alice is starting to realize. She is a bit frightened as she is intrigued. After all, adults can be frightening, especially ones a child doesn't know. She's been caught! It doesn't take much to get Alice's attention, apparently, but it doesn't alleviate the deer-in-headlights expression.]

I'm going to go home.

[She says it so matter of fact, without hesitation. Alice may be curious, but she's always been notoriously self-conscious around other children.]

I simply don't like it here! I want to go back with my sister.

There are people here child who would worry over your departure. Do you wish to upset them so?

[He crouches down so that he is more at a level with her, because looming over her might seem intimidating.]

[Just a little; he's fairly intimidating to begin with. Alice, on the other hand, puffs up. She becomes a little indignant.]

But I don't want to be here all day!

[No, she's a big kid, she won't let water works start up.]

I don't want to be away from my family! They'll forget about me!

[The little silver-haired princess was always a bit overeager in a new place. She liked making friends and seeing new things. And she immediately began looking for the lucky person who was going to be her new friend.

Then she saw the boy who had her sort of look: grey eyes and blond, though his hair was more golden like Amroth's than the silver she had. Braids bouncing, eyes sparkling, she approached him.]

[He was off to the side of the kids, playing with a stag toy by himself because the other children were beneath him. They were playing boring games. the girl who appeared before him, seemed interesting however. He inclined his head towards her like he had seen his adar do.]
