But a few nations are still around. And maybe those nations still being around can be taken a little more literally than we thought...

This is a meme for characters from Stand Still. Stay Silent, Hetalia, Nyotalia, Scandinavia and the World and really any Nordic (and Estonian) character is welcome! Just post in and tag out!

Setting

2. A generic postapocalyptic jamjar in a destroyed city.

[ Emil's smiles are nice. Lalli doesn't quite smile back, but he tilts his head a little before looking back at the sky. Shooting star after shooting star, and that makes him smile, just a teensy tiny bit.

Well, if Tuuri was going to turn them out of the tank, at least she picked a good night. ]

[When Emil looks over next, he sees that teensy tiny smile and it makes him feel that yes, he did a good job communicating with Lalli. ...And after a moment he reaches over and brushes some flyaway strands of hair out of the Finn's face so that they'll align better with the rest of his hair. Really, when this is over he'll have to teach Lalli how to properly take care of his hair there is a lot of potential there.]

[ Emil straightens Lalli's hair, and Lalli - pretty much without thinking - responds by butting his head into Emil's hand.

Your Finn is a cat, Emil. He may ACTUALLY be a cat. ]

[...the reaction to that is automatic. More pettings.

Or rather, actual very tentative petting of Lalli's hair. This is just really comfortable and calming.]

[ For the moment, Lalli will just sit here in the slightly awkward position he's twisted himself into, cross-legged on the ground, tilted to one side and pointed mostly down so that Emil can reach.

How can that be comfortable? ]

[Emil thinks the same and thus scoots over a bit so Lalli can sit more comfortably.]

[ Lalli shifts a little as well. To just tip gently over and plunk his head on Emil's chest.

Emil is good with hair. Hair petting is nice. Lalli must expedite the petting by getting all up in Emil's personal space, clearly. ]

[Well. Let's just get comfortable like this?

Because he can do this for a good long while. After a while he starts to talk about the stars again.]

[ If Lalli could purr, he would. Between the soothing of hair petting and the nice lull of Emil talking again, Lalli could almost fall asleep.

He won't, because they're still outside, even if it's relatively safe here. Instead he will drowsily listen for trolls and watch the shooting stars. ]

[A good while later Mikkel pokes his head out and tells Emil that they can come inside.

Emil looks up when he is addressed and pauses with the petting and talking, though he doesn't move yet, and once Mikkel has disappeared tells Lalli:]

We can go back inside.
