The SSSS and the Nordics crossover meme

So 90 years after our time, the known world has kind of shrunk.

But a few nations are still around. And maybe those nations still being around can be taken a little more literally than we thought...

This is a meme for characters from Stand Still. Stay Silent, Hetalia, Nyotalia, Scandinavia and the World and really any Nordic (and Estonian) character is welcome! Just post in and tag out!

How much? [His frown returns, staring at Sweden. Was there really so much? He knows that there are holes in his memories; they're pretty obvious, and he knows there must have been a past that he's forgotten, but how much?]

[That is a difficult question when he doesn't know what Finland does know.] Whom do y' know? [As in, what other nations?] 'nd y' are many centuries old.

It's 90 years since the virus stuck. Before that... [Finland shrugs. But centuries? Really? He shouldn't really be surprised, not with all of the technology they had, but it's still weird to think of how much he might have lost.

To hide his thoughts about it, he crouches down and pulls a pencil out of his pocket so he can draw a map on the flat surface of a stone. He cross hatches out the silent world, before moving side so Sweden can see.] Eesti lives with me, but that's it. I know there were others, I can remember, sort of, but I couldn't map them out.

[There is a long moment of schocked silence (and this is Sweden, it's a pretty long moment) before he, after a quick glance at their surroundings, slowly crouches down and starts to sketch.

A large sketch of all the continents, briefly naming them verbally, and then a larger sketch of just Europe and a rough estimate of the borders around the end of the 17th century.

He'll point at the rough areas that each name denotes as he speaks.] Den. Nor 'nd Ice live with him. Me. Y' and Estonia and Latvia l've with me. Russia's here. Poland, Lithuania. France - Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony, France. Spain, Port, Italy ...there's two. Switzerland. Greece lives with Turkey. ...England, Ireland's with him, Scot 'nd Wales. ...Netherlands, Belgium. [He's certain that he wasn't complete, but the sketch is rough as well - it is only meant to give an idea, anyway.]

[While Sweden sketches, Finland alternates between watching him and keeping an eye out. But it's fascinating as the map expands, and despite himself he starts paying more and more attention to it.]

There's so many of them... [So many Nations that he must have known, all swallowed up by the course of the virus.] I can't imagine Iceland living with anyone, though. When I've met him he's been so... aloof. Like Norway, but more independent. There's so many people living together. And why are there two Italies?

History. [Said with a shrug - it's really complicated.]

...Den and Nor let Ice go? [That's something that he really wouldn't have expected. Not that Iceland belongs to Denmark, but it wouldn't be Norway's decision only.]

[Laughing, Finland shakes his head.] Iceland's an island! He shut off his borders for years and years and the virus never even touched him. He has so much technology still - phone lines everywhere and electricity that doesn't cut out and cars and radios! They didn't let him go, he let us back in, and helped us out a little bit. [Eventually.]

[Wow.]

He's Nor's baby brother. [Kind of all of theirs, really. Also all you future people and your crazy future things.]

[Finland laughs.] Well, he's not a baby any more. Everyone has to grow up sometime, right?

Age doesn't matter th're. [He'll be Nor's baby brother when he is fifteen thousand years old.

Or so they all thought, but it almost seems like they were wrong.]

...y' grew up well. [His ears might have gained just a hint of colour while he deliberated if he should say that, and a bit more still when he did.]

[Tilting his head, Finland looks at Sweden, wondering if that is a blush or not.] Do you think so? Have I grown up much?

... You still haven't told me when you're from! Or anything about the world before the virus! [So easily distracted. TELL HIM THINGS.]

Y' have. [Shhhhhhh totally not why would he

He's also looking very intensely at the surroundings now.] 1660.

'm just got out of a war.

[Finland pauses and then sighs deeply.

I wish I knew how long ago that was.

I can't imagine having the time and resources to fight someone else. It sounds so horrible. Who were you fighting with?

Den.

...Mostly. [And his allies.] 'sn't unusual. W' fight a lot.

That's awful! Why would you want to fight your brother? [Finland can't help but take a step back, looking up at Sweden.]

I mean, little fights, personal ones, that's different, no one gets killed then, but to go to war... [He shudders. Suddenly he's glad he doesn't remember so much. Maybe he went to war once.

Which leads him to a horrible thought.] I never fought you?

Because Den's loud 'nd always wants t' be the boss and take m' land. [This may not actually be an accurate description of the situation. Or at least a very incomplete one.

OH GOD FIN THOUGH COULD YOU

this is seriously awkward.]

Only k'nd of. Y' live with m'.

He is loud, but that's not a good reason to fight him! [A pause, before he adds,] Or bring his people into it, anyway.

I don't understand why I'd be living with you, though. I have my own lands and people!

We're nations. Our fights 're those of our people.

Power. [That technically answers all, but it's a lot more complicated when describing it to someone who seems to not get war as a principle, or international politics.] 'nd y' weren't strong enough t' be independent. 'm wanted y' with me rather than leave y' to Russia.

[Finland taps his foot and tugs on his jacket as he considers this, staring back out across the horizon. He's not sure he's comfortable with this.]

Was this really how things were? [He doesn't realise he's spoken out loud for a moment, and when he does he glances at Sweden, slightly embarrassed, but also determined not to take the question back.]

Still. Tell me about the other Nations. And the rest of the world! [Okay, maybe slightly moving the subject on, but shh.]

Y' said that Estonia stays with y'. 's probably like that.

[Not exactly maybe, but... well. Okay, hopefully not exactly like that because the thought of Estonia and Finland dating when he never managed to so much as say a thing makes him jealous.]

...'stonia has two brothers. Latvia, th' younger, lives with us. Th' older, Lithuania, is married t' Poland.

Estonia lives with me because his own lands were eaten up by the silent world. [Finland replies, quietly. It's very different. He has so few people that Finland is constantly worrying about him. One or two outbreaks and he might be gone. He doesn't want to think about that. It's nothing at all like having to live with someone because they're forcing you to.]

At least there are some equal relationships, then.

W' aren't married.

[When did he project such an impression is he really being that obvious?!!!!!

He'll ask more about the silent world in a moment but

for now there's something else on the forefront of his mind.]

...No. [Finland's tone is cold: apparently their relationship isn't on any kind of equal footing.

But after a moment he sets it back with a sigh, leaning back.} So where is this place? You said you'd been stuck here for a while?

[The reply is crushing, and takes him aback for a moment, but in the end he just shrugs.]

've been here fer a year, but w' still don't know.

There are other people as well, though? And people are coming in?

What're the zombie things, though? Are there more things like it? And your gun! Where did you get that from?
