Hm... A number of things that he would do normally don't work in this place, simply because it is so lifeless - not a single spirit in sight, no umbra, and so on. But there are still options.
There is a crash in the kitchen this time, and when Phillip enters it, a big, heavy cupboard will come crashing down right at him. Nobody says that he is the most inventive with haunted houses. Some things humans are afraid of just make no sense.
Phillip steps into the room, and as the cabinet falls... suddenly he's on the other side of it. What? Just because he can't die or be hurt he could still get stuck. Well, as stuck as someone who can teleport can get, anyway.
He's definitely frowning now, glancing around. "You can cut this out already." Mostly, you're just annoying him.
...Okay, that wasn't more revealing than the other things. So this guy isn't afraid and has some kind of power on his hands.
He considers his options - leave, continue or reveal himself - and then chances leaving the room to take his human form. It's not like he ever runs around like this if he can help it, so it's not like he's risking much at a later point of time in revealing himself like this.
The guy who shows up in the door behind Phillip, apparently having come from the living room, still doesn't look too human. Sure, he technically does (for a Talon, Laughs is actually quite handsome, so physically he doesn't stand out that much, but...). But his posture is off. He's hunched over, but not in a way that looks like a teenager slouching or a hunchback but more like someone who is either decidedly unhappy about having to walk on two or ready to attack. Either way, there's something wild, predatory in it, and the way in which he watches Phillip from under the hood of his hoodie adds to that impression.
And for a while, he just stands there and stares, and looking at him one would kind of expect him to growl. He's not, but the sentiment is still there.
Phillip turns to face him, watching him as he comes in. There is something not right about him, but his world is... disjointed, at best. He's far too aware of the existence or at least possibility of multiple worlds, multiple mythologies, multiple literally everything, so he doesn't even know what he would even start to guess at. Not human. Or a very weird human. That's about all he can narrow it down to at the moment.
But, at the very least, this person is not quite the type of Thing that Phillip himself is, which are about the only types of people who freak him out anymore. So he gives the man a mock, somewhat cocky, salute. "Sup?"
He most definitely isn't, and he would be pretty offended if anyone implied that he was a creature of Entropy (nobody has ever said anything to his face, of course. But there are some people who make concerned sounds about Red Talons in that direction, and some Talons who makde concerned sounds about Dying Cubs that way...)
Anyway, right now he just scowls at Phillip. Darnit what are you.
Phillip shrugs, in the particular way only bratty teenagers can pull off. "Looking around. Trying to find supplies. And any clue as to what the hell is going on." He hasn't been having much luck.
"Well, there are no supplies for you here." None at all, technically, because what little there was he's already eaten, but this is a matter of principle. Even if he will move on tomorrow. Maybe. This flat is the most intact that he's been in so far - which mostly means that the windows are still in one piece with curtains to be drawn over them, the door is still in one piece, and so on, which not only means additional safety but also keeps the wind out. As much as he hates being this locked up, he also is too pragmatic to turn something like that down easily.
"Nobody knows what's going on." He has had very little contact with the other residents of this ruin, but what he could glean about their situation tells him that there are little differences to his. They have no idea how they got here, no idea how to get back, and close to no resources.
He knows that there are beings that seem to only ever have spoken to anyone on those Weaver devices everyone's been issued (and that he promptly abandoned), and they might know more, but he hasn't yet been able to track them down. It would be helpful if he wasn't alone in that task - when he thinks about this, he acutely misses Louise and the other homid pack members, this'd be more up their alley -, but so far he's run into nobody that he would want to work with.
"Oh, well that's just great." No one has any answers, huh? That is entirely too much of Phillip's life and frankly he is kind of sick of it. He wants answers for once, damnit. So he is going to try and get them.
He's not going to fight over a crappy apartment, though- it would be fine if someone else clearly didn't want him there, but there are plenty of ways Phillip can accomplish the same thing without moving in. Like turning into a tiny bird that moved in. Totally different. But people who know what's going on is probably good, and he likes making friends in general, sooooooo...
"I guess I am," he says with a grin, "What's your name? I'm Phillip."
Well, it's not like there are many beings around that are neither human nor have some kind of Wyrm taint on them, he should probably try to at least try and make an ally out of this guy.
"Bob.
What are you?" He's always been a bit on the blunt side, okay.
"Not human." He shrugs, the gesture a bit exaggerated because it is one of those parts of human body language that he found useful and adopted but needs to think about consciously to do. "And not one of the creatures out on the streets, either." He could be more specific, but while he doesn't know whom he's talking to...
"Yeah, what are those?" Phillip turns and moves towards the window, looking out at the streets. "I have never seen anything like that." Which is probably not surprising considering that monsters aren't really a thing in his universe, but.
"Me neither." He's seen other monsters, but none of them resembled what is walking around out there closely enough to say that it was the same. "Not before coming here. They aren't animals, though." He's had a disagreement about that one before. But if they were animals, he should be able to at least do very basic communication with them. He can't. "Maybe they once where, but if they were, they're very far from it now."
"Huh." That's weird and confusing and Phillip doesn't much like it. "Well, they probably didn't drag us here, and I'm pretty sure it's not a thing either of us did on purpose. So there has to be something else around, right?"
"Apparently there's people that can only be reached through the mobile phones that might be responsible. I've been trying to track them down, but they're really hard to find."
They could be anywhere, is the other problem. In one of the other cities, in an underground bunker in the forest...
"Guessing that means you don't have their number, then." That would be way too easy. "You found anything that might narrow it down?" Because, yeah, there's a lot of space out here.
"They are here sometimes, but if they are here all the time, they are staying underground."
That's as much as he has, and he feels like it is as much, if not more, than everyone else has. Which means that there really is precious little out about them "There's at least three of them, one of them a bitch."
"Oh good. Dealing with bitchy people is the best," he says sarcastically, as if he couldn't be a bitchy person himself at all. Nope. Not him. "Have you talked to them? Did they drop any hints at all?" Like why. He would like to know why.
"It's only different because humans have hang-ups and deal differently with sires and bitches." And all the people attached to their way of thinking follow suit. "I didn't keep the mobile phone, but from what I've heard, no. They only try to give orders."
"People tend to do things specifically because they're ordered not to at times." And he's wondering if that wasn't the purpose of the order.
...Nobody trusting the scientists, and the scientists not actually saying why everyone was supposed to stay in, certainly didn't help with complying, either, and they must've known that.
