The advantage of being a nation is that whenever you go to war, you will be considered high ranking and be given good accommodation. In this case the bedroom of an abandoned farm, the owners having fled form the hostilities.

The other advantage of being a nation is that no matter how much you fight at the front of your people, you know that you will survive. The disadvantage is that doing that so that you will be raising the spirits of your people is kind of your job, and the enemy knows that you're responsible for your people's spirits, so you are a lot more likely to get hurt than everyone else. Particularly when you've fought them often enough before for many people to know who you are. Screw Denmark, really.

Sweden is back in their bedroom sooner than Finland and when the other nation enters he is currently trying to get out of his mail and clothes to be able to check himself over, clean his wounds and dress them. The doctors and barbers are busy with the humans who needs quick care because they will die or get infections, and he doesn't want to hold them up when hurting for a while will be the worst thing that will happen to him. Plus, Finland will come back soon anyway and he'll ask him to help. ...He just hopes that Finland wasn't hurt too badly, no matter how capable in a fight he knows the other nation to be he still cannot help but worry about him a lot.

Denmark. The bane of their existence. He always seemed to be the one who came after them. Of course, the fact he knew they were also countries made it harder for them. He usually came right for them.

Finland had taken a few more moments when the battle ceased to help what he could. He wasn't too badly hurt after all - just a few bumps and bruises - so it was the least that he could do. After helping, he looked up to see where Sweden had gotten to. "Sweden?"

After looking around several times and not spotting the taller country, he headed back to the farm house. He went inside, threading his way through the hall to get to the bedroom. Luckily it wasn't too hard to find. The door was open and he could see inside, immediately stepping inside. "Sweden, do you need help?"

sure why not :)

Even spending as much time with Sweden as he did, even staying with him, that intense gaze made him feel uneasy at times. He got that same feeling for a brief moment before Sweden responded as he stood there looking him over. He knew what he was looking for, but it still made him feel nervous.

It eased though as he finally responded and Finland crossed the remaining distance between them. His bruises were in less demanding locations. Legs and arms. Nothing that reduced dexterity. So he began to untie the lacing of the other nation's shirt. "All right, let's get it off so we can see what we are dealing with."

Finland noticed that wince. Yep, something had definitely gotten him in the shoulder. Shrugging definitely wasn't a good idea. "Oh, that must hurt," he remarked, knowing how tough the other country was. Someone had hit him good.

Finland is carefully helping remove the shirt so they can see the injury when Sweden spoke again. "Me? Just some bruises I think. Arms definitely hurt. Legs too. But I can still moving everything with only minimal pain so I think that's a good sign."

Still wearing all of his clothing, he had yet to look at how bad yet.

It took a bit of effort to help Sweden get the shirt off, given their height difference, but finally he is able to.

Don't worry; he'll eventually check himself and in the process show Sweden he was all right. But at the moment, he needed to check on Sweden when he couldn't even get his shirt off.

Oh good, sitting down was easier. Finland is short compared to the other nation. Finland gets the shirt off and stares rather in shock. Boy, that was rather angry looking already. Finland carefully ran his hand over the injury, feeling the heat from the friction burn and that it was swelling or something like that.

Finland didn't even really give Sweden a chance to object. He began grabbing the supplies to clean and bandage the injury.

Prefectly fine. Always up for shipping

This certainly wasn't the first time that Finland had seen Sweden without a shirt on. Actually that was rather mundane compared to other times. So he didn't think anything of the fact that he had his hands on his skin, carefully treating the injury. His attention was so focused on his shoulder that he didn't notice the beginnings of Sweden's blush. Of course the fact that he was so close likely wasn't helping Sweden much.

"It might sting a little," he said before applying some salve to the wound. It would help it heal. "Now, we'll cover it and hopefully you can have a few days of not using it."

It was too swollen to try and close the wound with stitches, not to mention the friction burns. But Finland covered it and did his best to make sure it stayed in place. Finished with that, he settled back and took one of Sweden's hands, examining his bruised knuckles.

It definitely wouldn't get infected if Finland had anything to say about it. He would make sure that his companion didn't get sick. It would have been inconvenient for Sweden to become incapacitated at the moment, especially when Denmark was lurking around.

"You're welcome. I'm glad that its not too bad. Should only be a few days," Finland said with a smile.

Finland blinked in surprise as Sweden pulled his hand back, patting the spot next to him. He hesitated a moment then sat down next to Sweden. He really wasn't as bad off as he seemed, but he wouldn't object at all. "I'm okay, really."

"I'm sure."

Knowing that he's not going to win the argument if he keeps not giving Sweden proof, he does the only thing he can really do. He takes off his tunic to let Sweden see for himself. Of course this was the first time he would see it as well.

Well, he isn't bleeding, but he does have some nasty bruises all along his arms. Some of them were still darkening. Others had already darkened to nice shade of purple. He had really hoped they weren't that bad. Adrenaline meant he still couldn't feel the pain completely so he hadn't realized how dark they actually were.

Yep, that is pretty much it. Finland hadn't even looked to see what injuries he had. He has been so busy trying to help others that he hasn't even thought to make sure he wasn't injured. At least now that he's not running around anymore, he can finally get some help for them.

He protests when Sweden gets up, telling him that he doesn't have to get it, that he Finland would be able to get it. But even so he doesn't make a move to fight with the taller nation.

He also doesn't resist when the other comes over and starts to put the salve on his bruises. It actually feels good even if the feeling of him putting it on with his palms only is different.

"Thank you."
creativesuomi: (wait what?)

A man of few words. Finland was aware of that. He wasn't by now, it would have been surprising. For the moment though, Finland was quiet as well, letting Sweden's hands run over the bruises on his arms. On some of the darker bruises, he winced when they were touched, but only for a moment. They really were only bruises even if they were bad.

At the question, Finland looked up to meet Sweden's gaze. Sometime he didn't understand how Sweden's train of thought reached certain thoughts. Being as quiet as he was and the fact that Finland voiced a lot of his thoughts, it was easy to see how there was a disconnect.

"Yeah, everything is okay there."
creativesuomi: (smiling)

it is

[personal profile] creativesuomi 2016-07-31 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Finland smiled, his gaze still locked on Sweden. "Yes, we should."

It had been a while since he had been home. It was just something that happened when you were following around another nation. But it did get difficult always being away from his people and from his home for so long. Not that being with Sweden was hard, but he had his own troubles and Finland's weren't always first priority.

Though they possibly should have been. Russia kept peeking in all the time. While Sweden was intimidating, Russia was down right scary and he kept bothering both himself and Estonia. Having Sweden around, even if just for a short amount of time, might let Russia know to stay away.

"I'd like to be able to go back there."

Finland thanked Sweden again as he finished up tending to his arms. He looked over at Sweden as the other sat down near him. This was nice, a few minutes of quiet to not have worry about other things that were around. They would definitely know if Denmark made another appearance, but hopefully they had gotten enough hits on him for him to be gone for a while as well.

"Oh well, there's lots of things we could do," Finland replied. "We could visit the sauna. Would be nice after something this. We could have a feast. What do you think?"

Now that they are not fighting, he's starting to get tired, leaning a little bit closer to Sweden.

Finland was fine with no additional suggestions. That just means he'll come up with some more things for them to do when they are visiting his home!

But not right now. Sleep was sounding increasingly like the better idea at the moment. He still ached and all the fighting had worn him out. Under different circumstances, he might have been weary when Sweden put his arm around him, but at the moment, the only thing he did was lean in closer to Sweden, enjoying the warmth.

"Yeah, we should sleep," he said softly, practically snuggling up against him.

If Finland weren't so tired, he might have been more resistant to suddenly falling on the bed like that. He was still wearing his boots, but if Sweden didn't care, why should he. He would worry about it later.

He pressed back against him, feeling the warmth of the other nation so close to him. He felt protected, safe when he was with Sweden, even if he did have his scary moment as well.
