Finland's not entirely sure what to make of this new development. On the one hand Sweden is hugging him and he's strong and warm and safe and there's something familiar and homely about this and... there was meant to be another hand, wasn't there?
Slowly, he starts to relax from his initial tenseness, after a moment even reaching up to awkwardly pat Sweden on the arm. Then he carefully extracts himself and glances up at Sweden, as though he might read what's going on in his face.]
Did something happen?
no subject
...He doesn't, and while he lets Finland go when he extracts himself, he makes a very sad Swedenface at it. Which, to be fair, isn't very different form any other Swedenface.]
's been a while. [A couple of months shouldn't feel long for a nation, but here, they really do.
...Finland is right, though, they should get out of the open space, and so he takes another reluctant step away and nods to the place where he stood. There's a tiny night shelter above the entrance where the guards can stand in case of rain.]
no subject
[He hops up the rubble, sure footed as a goat, confident in himself and his body as he hasn't been since he was a child. There's an odd mix to him - clothed in old fashioned materials, but in a slightly unfamiliar style, and then his rifle as well. At the top, he peers out, frown finally showing.] Is this the Silent World? How did we end up here?
no subject
Th's isn't Earth.
no subject
...Still, they seemed oddly familiar too, if not in the same way as his own did. Norway, then? Or Denmark or... whatever is beyond the sea to the south. Whoever.]
Are you sure? `It looks like the Silent World. We might just be too far south. [He frowns, turning back to Sweden.] How're going to get back hom-- oh, is that for me? [It doesn't matter what drink it is, Finland's suddenly aware that he's thirsty. But Sweden can have the chair. He's too on edge to sit.]
no subject
Because Sweden will lean against the shelter instead, one shoulder touching the rough surface, and watch Finland (stand there and look and then drink).]
Y's.
[But he shakes his head at the Silent World and looks out over the plains.] 's called Osgiliath. 's on another planet. [He pauses again and turns his head very quickly, raising a hand for Finland to freeze before very, very slowly and quietly raising a rifle-like weapon by his side and pointing it at the head of the zombie that is slowly but surely headed for them. The shot is silent, the phaser's light only showing where it meets the zombie's throat and burns through the dead flesh, severing head from body.
He doesn't lower his arm as the creature folds, waiting if more will follow. They usually come in packs.]

I've never seen a troll that humanoid before! [But he unshoulders his own weapon, since Sweden is clearly still on edge, sharp eyes scanning the horizon.]
no subject
[Trolls are ...well. Things that stories are told about or Norway befriends, depending on context.] There's no trolls h're. [He doesn't take his eyes off the surroundings for more than a second though, so he doesn't notice that Finland got his own rifle ready, only feels the movement next to him and reaches over with his free hand, meaning to keep Finland by the shoulder and finding his chest instead. Close enough, he'll lay a hand flatly against it, symbolically holding the shorter man back.]

I can reveal them, but I don't know how they'll respond to it.
no subject
[They will come forward eventually, if they are there. Zombies are in a way his favourite and least favourite beasts at the same time - they are fairly easy to spot and fairly easy to battle due to their lack of intelligence or even any thinking at all if you have the right equipment, but at the same time they look human and their bite can turn people.]
no subject
If I call on the sun, she might help us. [He says, thoughtfully, already puzzling out what prayer he might use.]
no subject
What he does in the end is shake his head.] They'll come w'thout prompting.
[...and now that he looks properly, Finland really does look older. He can't tell how much with the bad lightening, but there is an age there that wasn't there before.] W' wait.
no subject
no subject
[That was a lot. And pretty much all that is known about how they are brought here, so... He can stop there. The "where we are" he already answered, but there is something else that needs to be talked about, better sooner than later, and that is more of a "when we are" issue.] What's yer year?
no subject
no subject
And of course he wants to return home as quickly as possible, but it just isn't an option right now. There's really only one thing that he can do right now:]
T' find a way home w' need t' survive. [It's said with a grim expression (so, really not much change, but the infection of his voice is a touch darker) and a light shrug of his shoulders. There's really not much else that can be done.]

And. WHAT VIRUS that sounds really ominous in a terrible way.]
Virus? [He had to shake his head at the question about the rifle, though, phasers really are nothing that exists where he's from.]
no subject
You are from before it! You have to tell me everything! Were there really cars everywhere? And electricity? There were more Nations too, weren't there, more than just us and Eesti and Nor and Den and Ice, of course, lots of us? Do you know them? And there was a different religion, not your Old Gods, or mine, but something else. I've seen the churches, you know, out in the old cities. They were huge, some of them! Trolls tend to gather there so I've not really been inside, but I think I can remember a bit.
[So much for keeping an eye out for more zombies. But so much lost knowledge! Finland manages to put a hold on his tongue so that Sweden can speak, staring at him expectantly.]
no subject
[Sorry, there are no answers forthcoming, only a shocked stare. What has to happen for a nation to wipe their memory this completely? What happened to Finland? Why did he not protect him...]
no subject
I guess Denmark knows the most of all of us, but I barely get the chance to see him these days.
no subject
[Sure enough, there are zombies coming around the corner in the distance, but he's too shocked by a nation forgetting their past that completely to notice.]
no subject
[It's been a long time since something managed to sneak up on Finland, though. As he finishes speaking, he turns a little and lifts his rifle, shooting past Sweden's side with deadly accuracy. The shot rings out, and before the echoes have even faded he's reloaded and aiming again. Two down.]
